Day two. No point in lying the boys were not super excited to get back on their bikes but they cracked a smile for the camera this morning. Wait Craig... is that a banana you have??

Confession time.... as part of the supporting team we assessed how tired the boys were, took into consideration how far away the first spectator point was from the start line and thought we had plenty.... more than plenty of time to make it to the forrest before the boys rode through. We even went into Margaret River to grab ourselves a cheeky coffee before heading to the check point. Our guys were in groups 3 & 4 so middle of the pack. Well weren't we surprised to arrive only to find we had missed them by two whole groups! Sheepishly and feeling a little guilty that we had severely underestimated their stamina and riding ability I snapped a couple of photos of the fabulous riders in group 6 and we jumped back into the car and speed to the next check point hoping to see the team on the sand track!
Doesn't the forrest just look gorgeous to ride through though!
Rowdy looking chilled giving us a wave as he rode down the sand track. We were cheering, waving our yellow balloons and streamers as the riders past us. They had been riding for 40km at that point... only 20km to go till the end of day two.
Joy mixed with exhaustion, mixed with joy and a glass of delicious red wine at the finish line -Xanadu Winery.
